The French Embassy in Hungary, the French Institute in Hungary and their partners: Initiatives France Central and Eastern Europe, Védegylet, Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, Hungarian Agricultural Chamber, Dutch Embassy in Hungary, Ökopolisz and ESSRG organise two days of conferences in the theme of agriculture on 27-28 November 2019 in Budapest, during the Environment Month sponsored by BNP Paribas, Fondation BNP Paribas and Colas.
27 November 2019, 10.00-15.30, French Institute in Hungary:
1st conference on agroecology in Hungary
The first day aims to provide a general overview of agroecology, and aims to present its challenges, while also outlining the current state of the play in Hungary. Experts in agro-ecology from the fields of science and practice will debate at three round tables on central themes: seeds and biodiversity, land use planning and short food chains. The discussions will take place in Hungarian. The program is available here.

Governance of agroecological transition and new farming practices
The second day is devoted more to how it is possible to orient the actors of the agricultural sector towards the development of innovative farming practices. Discussions will focus mainly on the role of local communities in supporting the agroecological transition. The debates will take place in French, Hungarian and English with simultaneous interpretation. The program is available here.
