What’s next for Citizen Science?

After 3 years of intense work and co-creation of the platform, the EU-Citizen.Science project has come to an end at the end of 2021. ESSRG, as a founding organisation of the European Citizen Science Association, has contributed to the content development and dissemination of the EU-Citizen Science platform.

RADIANT project encourages agrobiodiversity and battles the monoculture paradigm

RADIANT: realizing dynamic value chains with underutilized crops is a new European project coordinated by Catholic University of Portugal in Porto (Portugal), financed by Horizon 2020, the European Community Framework Program for Research and Innovation. The objective is to develop solutions and tools that will promote agrobiodiversity, combating the agricultural paradigm of monoculture and industrialized agriculture.

ESSRG researchers participated in YouCount & ECSA second webinar

As practitioners of Citizen Science, community-based research and youth engagement, researchers used this series of webinars to create space for discussing important questions of Y-CSS, mobilise feedback on the YouCount framework and start building a community of interest around Y-CSS. Participation is open to everybody and free of charge. The webinars were organised by the Working Group on Empowerment, Inclusiveness & Equity at the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) and the Living Knowledge Network (LKN) together with the YouCount EU project.

Workshop based on our research with blind and partially sighted people and ecotourist guides

What’s new in citizen science training: from open science to engagement

At this event, the EU-Citizen.Science platform’s partners showcased the recent development of the project: three training modules and offered the opportunity to meet the trainers who developed them. The final version of the platform and its new features were also presented along with the input presentations from winners of the #MonthOfTheProjects campaign.

IPBES scientists, including our researchers, received the EuroNatur Award

Researchers working for IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) have received the 2021 EuroNatur Award. Our senior scientist, Eszter Kelemen with two fellow researchers had the honour to receive it on the Island of Mainau.
